With the addition of a rug pad, that friction and wear and tear is slowed down, thus extending the life of your rug. Obviously this is like rug pad. Of course, if the rug pad is left out, or a low quality option is used, you are going to notice this as well; just not in the same way. You don’t want the rug pad to show, so it should be cut to be at least 1/2″ smaller all the way around. No matter who is installing your new rugs, make sure that you do your research into the pad that is being used. The benefits of rug pads far exceed the inexpensive price of acquiring them as they are very affordable.
